Vote for 2006 Hardee's Bobblehead

The Springfield Cardinals are excited to announce that fans will be able to determine the 2006 Bobblehead Doll, which will be given away on July 23rd, 2006, courtesy of Hardee's.

Voting will take place on the homepage of springfieldcardinals.com, on the fan poll, located in the lower right corner. The five choices for the Hardee's Bobblehead Doll will be Louie the Mascot, Manager Chris Maloney, St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame Pitcher Bob Gibson, First Baseman / DH Juan Diaz and Pitcher Chris Lambert.

Fans will be able to vote online beginning at 12 Noon on Sunday, March 5th until 5pm on Friday, March 10th. The winner will be announced shortly thereafter. Happy voting and Go Cards!

The Peoria Chiefs Announce 2006 Bobblehead Giveaways

The two collectors series giveaways in 2006 will be Bobble Heads (5) and a Series of Photo Baseball (4) Giveaways. The five Bobble Heads will be: Ron Santo (June 2), Yadier Molina (July 14), Chiefs Manager Jody Davis (July 28), Kerry Wood in a Chiefs uniform (August 4) and Harry Caray (August 11). The baseball set features a headshot and stats of four Chiefs players from last season: Grant Johnson (June 22), Ryan Harvey (June 29), Sean Gallagher (July 6) and Eric Patterson (August 24).

Runaway Bobblehead Doll!

Like the woman who inspired their creation, Runaway Bride bobblehead dolls disappeared quickly during a sports promotion in her hometown.

The dolls, given to the first 1,000 people through the doors at the Gwinnett Gladiators ice hockey game Sunday, were gone in about 10 minutes.

People lined up more than three hours before the gates opened.

The minor league ECHL team named the trinket the "Runaway Bride Any Similarity to Actual Persons is Unintended and Purely Coincidental" Bobblehead Doll.

The bobblehead features a generic woman's face, with a veil over her head, a sweat shirt that says "I (heart) Duluth," a pair of running shoes labeled "Adios" instead of Adidas and a picture of the state of Georgia on the back.

Duluth resident Jennifer Wilbanks' disappearance last April, just days before her scheduled 600-guest wedding, prompted a national search.

She turned up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, claiming to have been abducted and raped.

Relief quickly turned to confusion and anger among some when Wilbanks recanted her story, saying she fled because of "certain fears" controlling her life.

Wilbanks was ordered to perform community service for lying to police.
