Nashua Telegraph - Some may say Americas lost the beat, but there are a whole slew of folks preparing to bebop their way through the 18th annual Lowell Celebrates Kerouac Festival, which begins today and runs through Sunday, whod beg to disagree....

... There will be lectures on Kerouac, on the beats and on related music and mystical subjects. There will be live music and exotic food everywhere, as well as a book signing and discussion by Steve Edington, author of “The Beat Face of God: The Beat Generation Writers as Spirit Guides.” Actor John Ventimiglia (Artie Bucco on “The Sopranos”) will be around for Jazz in Jack’s Town on Saturday evening, reading passages of Kerouac’s jazz-inspired prose.

Oh yeah, and organizers are raffling off not one, but two rare Kerouac bobbleheads, identical to the one recently inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame at Cooperstown. (Kerouac was a huge baseball fan.)...
