The Earl Weaver Bobblehead is Unique!

I like finding out about Bobbleheads that add something a little unique to their design, and it looks like 'Frontier Field' will be offering a few really interesting Nodders.

The first one is made for Earl Weaver, a bad tempered baseball manager and Hall of Famer...

"...his classic confrontations with the umpires contributed significantly to his reputation as a fiery leader and made him a cinch for Cooperstown.

The colorful Weaver, who managed the Red Wings for two seasons enroute to Baltimore, will return to Frontier Field Saturday, May 14, for a promotion including a unique bobblehead doll to the first 1,500 fans.

In addition to the Weaver figurine's head bobbing, the right leg will bobble to simulate kicking dirt on home plate. The bobblehead will be wearing a 1966 Red Wings uniform with the hat on backwards (another trademark Weaver arguing technique). Weaver was elected to the Red Wings Hall of Fame in 1995 and to Cooperstown in 1996.

The Weaver appearance will be part of a five-game 'Legends Ticket Package' on sale now at Frontier Field... The package also includes Lou Gehrig Bobblehead Night, Saturday, June 18.

The first 2,000 fans will receive bobbleheads of the New York Yankees legend in his farewell speech pose..."
