Ball Team Joins Sponsors with Bobblehead Give-Aways

According to OurSports Central, The Columbia Catfish are making Bobblehead Dolls hand-outs a part of their sponsorship program. A great way to bring in more money from local businesses!
"Columbus- In another example of reaching out to the Columbus community, the Columbus Catfish are honoring one of their own.

Former Shaw High standout and current Dodger farmhand Edwin Jackson will have his likeness immortalized when the Catfish hand out bobbleheads of the pitcher to the first 500 fans who come through the gate on August 17th.

The collectible is the third and final part of a 3-piece series which also includes former Catfish phenom Chuck Tiffany (July 17th) and former Dodgers’ Hall of Fame Manager Tommy Lasorda (July 23rd).

To add a twist, the Catfish are offering sponsorship of the Jackson bobblehead giveaway on-line beginning Wednesday, April 13th, at 12:00 noon (Eastern Standard Time).

“It’s a fun way to make the sponsorship available to everyone,” said Catfish General Manager Jim Beaudoin. “Some single-A teams still don’t have any of their players in the majors. We are proud not only to have a Edwin reach the majors, but especially proud that he is a Columbus native. He is a wonderful guy, and reflects well on our community.”

Beaudoin also noted that this type of promotion is part of the team’s effort to use non-traditional marketing to reach out to fans and the business community. “Edwin is such a fan favorite, we have had a lot of companies inquiring about sponsoring his bobblehead. We felt this was the most fair and fun way to offer it to the business community.”

In addition to having their name and logo on each of the dolls, the winning bidder will receive an assortment of items, including one doll personally autographed by Edwin himself."
